TTC IOP FAQs

1. Will my insurance cover this IOP program?

Often yes, however, TTC will contact your insurance company and verify all benefits prior to anyone starting the program. There are self-pay options available to those who prefer.

2. Do caregivers and teens take all the IOP classes together?

No. There are 3 of the 6 hours spent together and the other 3 hours are spent apart. This is to allow space for caregivers' needs and the teens’ needs to be met with peers. Teens and Caregivers are introduced to material that is complementary to what the other is learning separately and then simultaneously introduced to the material to support their relationship.

3. Why do caregivers need to attend this IOP, this is for my teen?

What TTC has seen is that requesting just the teen to attend and learn in an IOP program is not supportive enough to cultivate change in the teen’s environment. By requiring caregivers to attend, they are learning how to be in relationship with their teen as the teen learns new ways of getting their needs met without the use of drugs, alcohol, or negative behaviors. Caregivers are also able to receive support from other caregivers with similar experiences.

4. Can caregivers take turns attending IOP?

No, we require consistency in attendance so that all participants feel safe to share and engage in the materials.

5. How many people are in the IOP groups?

We cap the classes at seven participants. Smaller groups allow for a richer learning environment.
